Viktoria – Fpop Queen of the MTV Generation in the ’90s

I think I’m going to use Fpop term from now on, purely for convenience ’cause it’s easier to type. Hahaha!  Seriously, I haven’t heard people refer to Filipino pop as Fpop.

In the early ’90s, Viktoria is probably one of the few artists (in the Philippines) who has done many MVs.  Where is she now?  There hasn’t been any news on her for the last few years.  I wish and hope she comes back.  If she doesn’t want to perform anymore, maybe she can compose songs for the other artists.   I think she’s good ’cause she experiments and doesn’t stick to pop ballads only.  Gary V can compose for other artists, too.  His fast/dance songs are good, too.  I can’t recall any other composers/singers who are like them.  Maybe there are more but I don’t know anybody else.  Hmmm.  Oh well… I was just a kid back then.

Filipino Bands

I really want to see r&b music to flourish in the Philippine music scene.  It does not mean that I do not like the Filipino bands that are making waves across the nation.  In fact, I love them.  Mainstream and Indies. I heard the Eraserheads are going to have a reunion but not sure what kind, whether they are going to do an album, song or concert, don’t know really.  Nevertheless, it will still be a treat for a lot of fans like me.  He he.  I rarely say or acknowledge that I am a fan of something but there you go… I also like Rivermaya–especially with the original members, Bamboo, Slapshock, Urbandub, and recently I discovered Taken By Cars, just to name a few. So.. I think I’m going to blog about them or post some vids and lyrics the next time.
